Fitment Guide

Make sure the part you order fits your exact vehicle. Use one of three methods below β€” Year/Make/Model lookup, VIN decoder, or part number search. Take 30 seconds now to save a return later.

Check fitment in 30 seconds

Three ways to verify β€” pick whichever's easiest for you.

Shop by popular make

Jump to parts curated for these makes β€” fitment pre-verified.

1 Year / Make / Model

The most reliable way to verify fitment. Pick your year, make, model, and engine β€” we'll match to our fitment database (built on industry-standard ACES data covering 99% of vehicles 1985 to present).

Tip: Save your vehicle to your garage so every page on the site filters to confirmed-fit parts automatically.

  • Pick the year your vehicle was manufactured, not the year you bought it
  • For trims, "LX/EX/Si" can have different brake sizes β€” pick the right one
  • Engine matters for filters, sensors, and ignition parts

2 VIN Decoder

Your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is a 17-character code unique to your car. Decoding it gives us the exact build spec β€” including options like 4WD, transmission type, and original engine.

1HGCV1F31KA123456
1–3: World manufacturer ID
4–8: Vehicle attributes
9: Check digit
10: Model year

Where to find your VIN: dashboard (driver side, through windshield), door jamb sticker, registration, or insurance card.

3 OEM Part Number

If you already have the part number from your old part or your dealership quote, this is the fastest method. Enter the manufacturer number and we'll cross-reference it against our catalog.

OEM part numbers are usually:

  • Stamped or printed directly on the old part
  • On the parts list from your service manual
  • Available from the dealer parts desk (free to ask)

Aftermarket cross-reference: we'll show you both the OEM-equivalent and aftermarket alternatives, often saving 30–60% vs dealer pricing.

4 When in doubt, ask

If you're unsure about fitment after trying all three methods, don't guess. We have three free ways to help:

  • AI chat (Sparky) β€” instant answers 24/7, can search by symptom and vehicle
  • Call us β€” 905-545-9339, real parts pros, Mon–Fri 8 AM – 6 PM
  • Walk in β€” bring the old part to our Hamilton store, we'll match it

Wrong-part returns are free when we confirmed the fitment for you β€” so when we say "this fits," we mean it.

Fitment glossary

Common terms you'll see in part descriptions.

OEM
Original Equipment Manufacturer β€” the same part the factory installed. Highest quality, highest price.
OE-spec / OE-equivalent
Aftermarket part built to match the original's specifications. Usually significantly cheaper.
Aftermarket
Replacement parts made by companies other than the original manufacturer. Quality varies by brand.
Direct fit
Bolts in with no modification. The opposite of "universal fit" or "may require modification."
Drop-in replacement
Direct fit with no additional hardware needed β€” simplest possible install.
ACES data
Aftermarket Catalog Exchange Standard β€” the industry data format used to match parts to vehicles by year/make/model/engine.
PIES data
Product Information Exchange Standard β€” the spec sheet format that goes with ACES (dimensions, materials, certifications).
Submodel / trim
The specific version of a model β€” e.g. "Civic LX" vs "Civic Si" β€” sometimes affects fitment.
Reman / remanufactured
A rebuilt part with new internals, restored to OEM spec. Typically half the price of new.
Core charge
A refundable deposit on remanufactured parts (alternators, starters, calipers). You get it back when you return the old part.
VIN
Vehicle Identification Number β€” the unique 17-character code for your specific vehicle.
FWD / RWD / AWD / 4WD
Front, rear, all-wheel, and four-wheel drive β€” drivetrain layout. Affects many drivetrain and suspension parts.
