Warranty Policy

Every part we sell is backed by manufacturer warranty. We make claims simple β€” no run-around, no fine print games.

Coverage at a glance

Every part A&A sells comes with two layers of protection:

  • Manufacturer warranty β€” backed by the brand that made the part (12–24 months on most items).
  • A&A fit guarantee β€” if a part doesn't fit the vehicle you ordered it for, we'll make it right at no cost to you.

Most claims are processed within 2–5 business days. Hamilton walk-in customers can often swap defective parts on the spot.

Warranty duration by category

Coverage varies by part type and manufacturer. Most parts ship with the manufacturer's warranty card or it's printed on the packaging β€” we honour whichever is longer between manufacturer terms and A&A's minimums below.

What's covered

Your warranty protects against:

  • Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship
  • Premature failure under normal driving conditions
  • Parts that don't perform as specified by the manufacturer
  • Incorrect fitment that we confirmed during your order
  • Missing or incorrect components inside a sealed kit

What's not covered

To be fair to all customers, warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear (e.g. brake pads worn through under normal use)
  • Damage caused by improper installation
  • Modifications to the part after purchase
  • Use outside the part's stated application (e.g. street pads used in racing)
  • Damage from accidents, fire, theft, or vandalism
  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect function
  • Labour costs for diagnosis or replacement (see Labour section below)
  • Consequential damage (e.g. a failed sensor that damaged an engine)
!
Installation matters

Warranty claims may be denied if the part shows signs of improper installation (cross-threaded bolts, torqued beyond spec, debris in critical surfaces). When in doubt, have a qualified technician do the install.

How to make a warranty claim

Claims are easy β€” most are resolved in under a week.

1

Gather info

Order number, the part SKU, photos of the defect, and a brief description of what happened.

2

Contact us

Email sales@aadiscountauto.ca or call 905-545-9339. Walk-ins welcome at our Hamilton store.

3

Get an RMA

We'll issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and tell you whether to ship the part back or bring it in.

4

Get resolved

Once the part is inspected, we'll replace it, refund you, or credit your account β€” your choice.

Average turnaround: 2–5 business days for in-stock replacements. Special-order parts may take 7–14 days depending on the manufacturer.

Commercial & trade accounts

If you're a mechanic, body shop, or fleet operator with a trade account, your warranty terms may be extended depending on the brand and the part. Most brands offer enhanced commercial-use warranties for our trade partners.

To set up a trade account or upgrade an existing one, email Andrew@aadiscountauto.ca or call us. We extend NET 30 terms and tiered pricing to qualified shops.

Labour reimbursement

Most manufacturer warranties cover the part only, not the labour to install or replace it. However, A&A offers partial labour reimbursement on warranty replacements for select premium brands if the part failed within the first 90 days:

  • Up to $75 for parts requiring under 1 hour of labour
  • Up to $150 for parts requiring 1–2 hours
  • Up to $300 for major components (alternator, starter, water pump)

A licensed shop's invoice is required for reimbursement. DIY installs are not eligible for labour reimbursement, but the part itself is still warranted.

Core charges & returns

Some parts (alternators, starters, calipers, ABS modules) carry a core charge β€” a deposit you pay at purchase that we refund when you return the old part. Cores must be returned within 30 days in rebuildable condition.

If a remanufactured part fails under warranty, its core charge transfers to the replacement β€” you don't pay twice.
